Ethanex Inks Agreement to Acquire Nebraska Ethanol Plant

WARWICK, N.Y. (DTN) — Ethanex Energy said in a news release that it has inked a definitive agreement to acquire Midwest Renewable Energy’s 26-million-gallon-per-year ethanol production plant in Sutherland, Neb., for $220.0 million in cash and Ethanex stock. Under the agreement, several newly formed, wholly owned subsidiaries of Ethanex will acquire the ethanol production facility in a series of three transactions.
