Media imagery is powerful. Kids and teens view pictures on line or TV, often put to music, and the result is mesmerizing to them. It is truly hypnotic. Tweens and teens are seeking placement in their peer group and striving to find their identities. For reinforcement and role models, they will seek out media personas who seem to reflect the type of person they think they want to be - or look like. There in lies the danger.
