Fighter’s History and Karnov’s Revenge

Now, here’s Data East’s own entries in the fighting genre, starting with Fighter’s History. Here’s a short recording over here (SNES version):

In this game, you had nine characters to choose from, and 2 bosses, one being Clown, and the other being none other than Karnov, who’d been DE’s mascot at one point (possibly dethroning Peter Pepper, I presume!)
Capcom sued DE out of the accusation that it resembled their own Street Fighter, and while the latter managed to defend themselves well, that could explain why it may not have been the success it could’ve been. But it’s okay to play, though at the same time, it’s actually much more challenging than some of the other games of its sort.
A year afterwards, they produced a sequel, Karnov’s Revenge. Here’s a short recording of the title guy vs. himself:
In this one, not only were Clown and Karnov now selectable, you also had two new fighters, Yungmie from Korea, and Zazie from Kenya. If you can win each battle without losing a single round, there can come a special stage where you fight against a big bull. Though this bull seems to take damage more easily, it can still be tricky. Atomic Runner Chelnov may be a secret character in the sequel as well.
