Not sure if this would help or hurt the environment, but it seems clear that with so much money at stake, many of the world’s giant lakes could be “harvested” for tropical trees that lie at their bottoms.

As this story notes www.alertnet.org, there’s a lot of hardwood trees that haven’t rotted at the bottom of lakes in tropical countries. Now companies are preparing to exploit this resource in what’s already being described as a “timber bonanza” that could be worth many billions of dollars.

Until tomorrow.
