Sunday night saw a big storm coming through and wreaking havoc in a number of Brisbane’s suburbs.
The rain that followed didn’t stop all Monday and Tuesday so Tuesday morning’s criterium training didn’t happen.
However, the inescapable text message exchange between John (J for Justmadeit) and me, a prelude to our Tuesday night gym session that serve the sole purpose of winding each other up, happened: “Sandra (S for soft), didn’t see you at Nundah this morning. John (J for Justdoit).” Ha, how could he have possibly seen me from the comfort of his bed?
And on it went. At some stage John got scared enough of not being able to put his dumb bell where his mouth was that S turned into S(uperwoman). Sucker!
It was my last gym weight session before Bright so I really wanted to make it count. Bec threw everything at us she had and we were still begging for more. Maybe only I was? John just stood by me like a brave soldier.
100 push-ups. And that was the warm up! It was a big mistake to tell Bec about the push up challenge!
Oblique twists and V-Snaps. I will feel sorry tomorrow.
Cat Push Ups - because we hadn’t done enough push ups, yet. Love your subliminals, Simon!
Bec with her biggest grin! Wonder why?
The squat holds that made John threaten to cross me off his facebook friends.
At 3 AM this morning the sound of rain pouring onto the veranda roof woke me up so I switched off the alarm. Very disappointed I resigned to the fact that I would have to content with a wind trainer session. The next time I woke up it was 5 AM. Our bed is right underneath the bedroom window and to check the weather all I have to do is to lift the blinds somewhat. The sun was coming through the gap and I saw blue and bright. This came so unexpected that I almost didn’t get up to race down to the Nundah track for some time trial efforts.
Can’t believe there are still people faster than me!
