Anthony Morrow, Golden State - Typically I try not be a box score junkie picking up players after one good game. There are some circumstances that call for overlooking that practice. Morrow’s 37 point, 11 rebound explosion vs. the Clippers is a perfect example. It’s more than just the numbers. It’s the team he plays for. Golden State is a run-and-gun team that produced several fantasy stars last year. With Baron Davis in L.A. and Monta Ellis on the shelf, Morrow appears to be this year’s Monta Ellis. His followed up his outburst with a solid 25 point, 4 rebound effort against Portland. He nailed four threes in each of those games. On the season he’s averaging 17.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.2 threes while shooting 62.7% from the floor, 64.7% from behind the arc and 10 for 10 from the line. As a bonus he qualifies at PG and SG in Yahoo leagues.
Daequan Cook, Miami - Dwayne Wade is back and making his teammates better. Last week I gave you Chris Quinn. This week I give you Cook. In his last five games he’s averaging 11.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.8 threes, and 0.8 steals. His Field Goal % (34.4% leaves plenty to be desired), but he’s shooting 33.3% from three and 75% from the line. He also qualifies at both PG and SG.

Matt Bonner, San Antonio - With Spurs players dropping like flies the scoring has to come from somewhere. It may be short-lived, but Bonner could be a plug-in guy the next couple weeks if you’re hurting. In his last four games he’s averaging 9.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.0 steal, and 1.8 threes (which is great for a guy who qualifies at PF & C). He’s shooting 48.4% from the floor and 50% from behind the arc. He hasn’t attempted a free throw this season, but he 80.3% for his career.
Michael Finley, San Antonio - Another Spur that’s stepping up his game is 35 year old Finley. He’s averaged 15.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.0 steals, and 2.0 threes over his last five games. He’s shooting 49.2% from the floor, 47.6% from downtown, and 87.5% from the line. He qualifies at both SG & SF.

Brook Lopez, New Jersey - Like most rookies, Lopez will have his ups and downs. If his past three games are any indication, he is starting to figure this level out. He averaged 15.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 2.3 blocks, and 1.0 steal. What’s nice is he only turned it over once a game. His 57.6% field goal percentage helps while his 77.8% free throw percentage doesn’t hurt. He qualifies at both PF & C.
