This sculpture is in a park in Washington DC near the Natural History Museum. My two daughters, ages 18 and 13, and users of MS Word since 2nd grade, had no clue what it was. Those of us who are a little older recognize it as a typewriter eraser, but now we have an entire generation who has never used a typewriter. An eraser? Now we have a spellchecker and a delete key. Perhaps one day, nobody will know what that thing is near the museum.

I used the “Nostalgia” filter from Xero Graphics, and added a little grain to this one to give it a slightly aged snapshot look. (Click on photo to enlarge.)
