Hello to all the fine readers of Racing News Digest. I am very pleased to bring to you a weekly recap of my NASCAR writing from the past week. I am also proud to be involved with Racing digest as it no doubt us one of the finest NASCAR blogs out there. Not only are they covering the big three series, but bringing you news and noted from the developmental series as well.
With all of that being said here is a look at the issue I have been focused on over the past week.
On Monday I took a look at some of the 2009 Crew Chief moves for the upcoming season. Some of them made a lot of sense, some of them not so much. Personally I think a few more crew chief moves still need to be made.
On Tuesday I broke a little news about Brendan Gaughan and his move to the RWI Nationwide Series team. For me I think this is a positive sign for that series, if you disagree come on over and leave me some thoughts. I think RWI is an up and coming Nationwide team who had a better then average 2009 season. I look for this move to yield postive results early in 2009.
On Wednesday I had a little spat with Ramsey Potson the Director of Corporate Communication for NASCAR. We disagree about the state of the NASCAR economy and this was a follow up piece to a story for the previous week. Basically Ramsey and I disagree on how strong the economy of NASCAR truly is.
Thursday for me is a day to focus on the Camping World East and West Series. This Thursday I wrote a preview of the upcoming Toyota All Star Showdown. This topic was also covered by zwriter here at Racing News Digest. It is a look at the Daytona 500 of short track racing, and is filled with names NASCAR fans are going to want to know.
Fridays on the Detroit Examiner we focus on the Truck series. This week I took a look at the void of truck committed to the entire schedule. This may mean the truck series isn’t strong enough to survive this economic downturn, but who knows.
