It’s been a rough few months here at 60 in 3 headquarters, mostly because of personal reason.  I want to thank all of you for bearing with me.  Some of my posts have been a bit personal and a few have been not quite fitness related, but that’s the way things work sometimes.  I meant what I wrote last week when I said that diet and exercise aren’t the only parts to fitness.  Sometimes, you need to handle your own stress levels and for me, that was the number 1 priority over the past few months.  Well, I’m happy to report that I feel like I’m back on track.  Life is good and I’m thoroughly enjoying it these days.  Which means 60 in 3 is also back on track!

And with that, here are some articles I thought you might find useful:

From the Examiner we have this article with some harsh but needed truth for those of you who are about to enter the gym for the first time in a long while.  Yes, the gym is scary, but it’s even worse because many new comers enter the gym with completely unrealistic expectation.  Take the time to understand that you’re not going to spend 2 weeks working out and end up with a ripped, movie star body.
@Examiner

Another one from the Examiner, this time about the surprising connections between golf and fitness.  Anyone who knows me knows that I don’t really consider golf a workout.  However, a few hours walking around on the course is far better than a few hours at home watching the latest American Idol.  Oh, and here’s something interested I learned from the article, walking rather than riding the cart will help you improve your score.  Think about that next time you’re about to tee off.
@Examiner

And to close it out we have this article from MSNBC about 8 healthy foods that turn out to be not so healthy.  Notice something about most of these?  They’re basically processed foods packaged in way to make them seem more healthy to uneducated consumers.  Sorry, but crap doesn’t get healthier just because you add the word LIGHT or LOW CALORIE to the box.  Stick with healthy foods and don’t let the food industry confuse you.

I’d like to thank the Weight Master blog for including a 60 in 3 article in their latest fitness and health carnival.
