The disastrous ET-based game

E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial may be one of the most classic movies in spite of some language it featured at the time, but the video game made of it was one of the most pointless catastrophes of all time. I really don’t see what the whole purpose of this aimless “adventure” is meant to be, and judging from the reception of the time, nobody else did either.
It fared so badly with only so many unsold cassettes gathering dust, that in the end, they had to bury them all in a landfill. This game alone may have contributed to the video game crash of 1983, during which many companies suffered setbacks in development. Let’s hope they’ve learned their lesson since.
