Yep, there was even, of all things possible, a puzzle game based on this classic franchise of one-on-one fighters! Here’s the video below the fold.
The exact title is Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo, even though it features at least 2 players from more than just one of the fighter games. Similar in some ways to Puyo Puyo, but a lot more complicated (there seems to be a 2-3 round setup just like in the actual fighter games), this has all sorts of gems that need to be combined and then broken apart in tricky ways. A most excellent production in the puzzle genre that’s great to play.
