While I spent my early teens in a cloud of vanilla cake batter and sun-ripened raspberries, spritzed on every time I deposited books at my locker, at some point it dawned on me that beauty is not always equated with smelling edible. The essential oils and herbal aromas that I avoided like the plague turned out to be refreshing, even exotic, alternatives to those stiflingly sweet fragrances (so much more ‘earthy chic’ than ‘candied cuteness’). This is what comes to mind when I smell Revolution Organics, a refreshingly well-edited line of no-nonsense beauty essentials (lip balm, body balm, skin cream- that’s it) that smell natural- not overpowering- and get the job done. They’re travel-friendly and packed with a long list of oils and plant essences- and did I mention that they’re 100% organic? Now, I could dedicate an entire post to the uses of the body balm alone (some of my favorites include: makeup primer, eyebrow tamer and blister block), but I know you’re already beauty experts in your own right.
