Orioles Lefty Rich Hill Takes Step in Right Direction

In his fourth start of the season, Baltimore Orioles starter Rich Hill flashed what once made him a prized member of the Chicago Cubs’ organization. The left-hander blanked the Seattle Mariners over seven innings, allowing three hits and three walks while striking out seven, according to the Baltimore Sun
.
Needless to say, don’t get too carried away with Hill’s impressive performance. Chalk it up as another point in his favor in his quest to get a once-promising career back on track, but don’t go as far as adding him in mixed fantasy leagues.
Hill still has an uphill battle to become an average Major League starter again, let alone return to fantasy relevance. It is worth noting, however, that Hill is not so different than Cliff Lee and Roy Halladay, whose careers also looked to be over at roughly the same age.
Lee, humbled by a stint in the minor leagues in 2007, and Halladay, using an overhauled delivery, rebounded in big ways. Can Hill do the same? To use two cliches: Never say never, but believe it when you see it.
