Politico is late to wake up, but better than never

Well since everyone in the nation seems to be awe-struck by the news that Tiger Woods is a human being, and thus has marital problems the same as everyone else, I’m not surprised that it is the same day that Politico comes out with it’s 7 stories Obama doesn’t want told. The funny thing is, none of these things are new to anyone that’s been paying attention to the news from anywhere but MSNBC.

Yes, if you haven’t been gazing at the news media pet of the Obama Administration, you probably have noticed the multitude of broken, ignored, and half-asses promises that have occurred since the election. On top of this you likely have noted that the great “Change” to politics, and life in this nation, is nothing more than a change in which part of the etreme political politics gets the ear of the President. And as for Congress, well they are as messed up as every.

The number one thing that Politico mentions in their article is something I have been speaking about since mid-2007. Yes, it’s really been that obvious. President Obama, and his crew of advisors, haven’t a clue about real world economics. I know you must be shocked.

Politico states

“Obama understands the political peril, and his team is signaling that he will use the 2010 State of the Union address to emphasize fiscal discipline. The political challenge, however, is an even bigger substantive challenge—since the most convincing way to project fiscal discipline would be actually to impose spending reductions that would cramp his own agenda and that of congressional Democrats.”

Wow. It only took 11 months for them to get this. I was against the Obama Stimulus - and it has now failed. I was against the auto bailout - and bondholders were screwed in a manner that seems illegal to me. I was against the financial bailout - and this year alone over 100 banks have failed (though the press have been quiet on this), and we have no idea where all that money went or how any that has been paid back is being re-used. Cash for Clunkers was overbudget, and is now hurting the auto industry. Unemployment has skyrocketed to levels that mirror another great economic President - Carter.

And we still have 3 more years of a planned $3.5 trillion dollar budget that will lead, as President Obama has stated, to a deficit of $9 trillion dollars. Which still doesn’t include $1.2 trillion dollars for a healthcare plan that won’t cover more than 1/4 the uninsured of today but will increase costs. It also does not even think about the increase in cost from the Cap & Trade Bill.

All of which I have covered extensively for months.

Politico goes on to speak about the deep thinking of President Obama. So deep you would think he was Deep Though itself. But instead we have a President that is universally found to be weak, insulting, and apologetic. This is not the quick computations of Spock, but the apparently indecisive actions of a person in way over their heads. And this too is something I’ve spoken about since 2007, the fact that executive experience counts. But I suppose a smile and a few words of a telepromter was better for some (MSNBC).

Politico goes on to speak about how the Obama Administration is run like the corrputioon normally seen in Chicago government. And I do mean corruption. How many people are in Cabinet positions that somehow “forgot” to pay their taxes? If they were really that inept, why are they incharge?

Not to mention the promise to “bring new faces to Washington” left out the caviat that they are only new if you couldn’t remember the Clinton Administration and/or had never lived in Chicago. And the Chicago way of doing things - ignoring what the public wants (ie no health care reform), insulting anyone that questions what you are doing (attacking Fox News and the Chamber of Commerce), the buddy-buddy network, and extremists in mass numbers (Van Jones, Anita Hill, et al.) - isn’t exactly what anyone might call bipartisan by any stretch of the imagination.

Again, all things stated months and a year ago.

Politico goes on to state, nicely, what I have said directly - that President Obama is at best seemingly gutless. This goes hand-in-hand with the abovementioned deliberations on every decision made. It also includes the insults ot our allies. I mean you never saw President Obama bow to the Queen of England, but he sure has no problem doing it to everyone else.

He also has no problem just talking. You know, the Government equivalent of say Dr. Phil. He wants to share how America feels with Iran and North Korea. He wants them to talk about why they want nuclear weapons and destroying our nation. He wants to make sure everyone in the world is ok with what we do with our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq - even though he made no bones on telling the world a different story during the election campaign trail.

Of course you can’t leave out the rockstar status that President Obama has made this White House has provided him. Seriously, President Obama seems to tour more than the Rolling Stones. He’s on television more often than American Idol it feels like. Hell, he got a Nobel Peace Prize for things they HOPE he will do at some point in the future. Even Bono had to earn his numerous awards. Politico made it seem like it’s a question, but if you pay attention to politics you know that President Obama loves having the perks of President - just not doing the work of a President.

Lastly Politico delved into the thought that someone might notice that Speaker Nancy Pelosi is doing more to run things in the Government than President Obama. Not that anyone might have noticed her disregard for any of President Obama’s comments on Health Care Reform (the entire revolving door of them), the lack of bipartisan agreement on anything (7 Republicans out of all in Congress is not bipartisan), the push for global warming initiatives (which must help out her stock portfolio with its investments in wind energy), and the attacks on Republicans and racists - which would be anyone that disagrees with any idea uttered by President Obama and enforced by her.

I will give the Politico thew last one. It’s not an issue I really thought about. Then again, it’s not the most pressing issue. Even if everyone were to think that Speaker Pelosi was wearing the pants in Government (thank goodness because we don’t want to see her legs) at least then SOMEONE would be in charge with balls.

Net net, Politico has said absolutely nothing new. There is no shock here. There is no awe in the realization that not only is President Obama just another wild spending, gutless, indecisive Democrat but that he is a true believer in a more socialist government - that has never worked in any country in the world, ever.

But I have to take solace in this. If Politico is just starting to seriously notice the flaws, lies, and utter weakness of President Obama just 11 months after the facts, then there is a hope that voters will catch on by 2010 mid-term elections. That is unless they are MSNBC viewers. Those will be enthralled and drooling until they can vote again in 2012. Who knows, he might give them all Ipods with all his speeches so they can swoon and it will even stimulate the economy.
