I snuck into a concert in 1965 ‘ish, featuring the Stones and the Hollies. The Stones were a local band I’d seen live quite a bit, but power players at that time - the Hollies were up and coming on the wave of Northern bands; it was a Saturday afternoon in Guildford. The Hollies were openers.
The Hollies performed this song almost exactly as you hear it here. I Can’t Let Go. I couldn’t believe how tight and talented this band was. Over the years, their influence and contributions have been far-reaching and sadly underplayed.
To Graham and Allan, Tony, Bernie and Bobby, this is a recognition loooooong overdue. Thanks for the great music.
